Uncheck Leave Messages on Server

Leaving a copy of messages on the server can cause a mail box to exceed the quota. If you use an email program, please be sure you have unchecked the option to leave a copy of the messages on the server.

Windows Macintosh


Windows

Outlook Express 4, 5 and 6
  1. Open Outlook Express

  2. Click Tools in the file menu and select Accounts

  3. Click the Mail Tab and click once on the Thrift Internet Email Account in the account window to highlight it, then click the Properties button

  4. In the Account Properties, click the Advanced Tab

  5. Remove the check from "Leave a copy of messages on server"

  6. Click OK and OK. Click the Close button on the Accounts window

Outlook 98
  1. Open Outlook 98

  2. Click Tools in the file menu and select Services

  3. Select Internet Email in the window, "The following information services are set up on this profile" to highlight it, then click the Properties button

  4. In Outlook Properties, click the Advanced Tab

  5. Remove the check from "Leave a copy of messages on server"

  6. Click OK and OK

Outlook 2000
  1. Open Outlook 2000

  2. Click Tools in the file menu and select Accounts

  3. Click the Mail Tab and click once on the Thrift Internet Email Account in the account window to highlight it, then click the Properties button.

  4. In the Account Properties, click the Advanced Tab

  5. Remove the check from "Leave a copy of messages on server"

  6. Click OK and OK. Click the Close button on the Accounts window

Eudora Light
  1. Open Eudora Light

  2. Click Tools in the file menu and select Options

  3. Select the Checking Mail Category

  4. Remove the check from "Leave mail on server"

  5. Click OK

Eudora Pro 4.x
  1. Open Eudora Pro

  2. Click Tools in the file menu and select Options

  3. Select the Incoming Mail Category

  4. Remove the check from "Leave mail on server"

  5. Click OK

Netscape 2 & 3
  1. Open Netscape

  2. Click Options in the file menu and select Mail and News Preferences...

  3. In Preferences, select the Servers Tab

  4. Select the Remove from the Server radio button

  5. Click OK

Netscape 4.05
  1. Open Netscape

  2. Click Edit in the file menu and select Preferences

  3. In Categories, open the Mail & Groups menu by click the plus (+) sign to expand the options

  4. Select Mail Server in the Mail & Groups menu

  5. Remove the check from "Leave messages on server after retrieval"

  6. Click OK.

Netscape 4.5 - 4.7
  1. Open Netscape

  2. Click Edit in the file menu and select Preferences

  3. In Categories, open the Mail & Newsgroups menu by clicking the plus (+) sign to expand the options

  4. Select Mail Servers in the Mail & Newsgroups menu

  5. In the "Incoming Mail Servers" section, click the Edit button

  6. Click the POP Tab in the Mail Server Properties

  7. Remove the check from "Leave messages on server"

  8. Click OK and click OK

Netscape 6
  1. Open Netscape

  2. Click Tasks in the file menu and select Mail

  3. In Mail, click Edit in the file menu and select Mail/News Account Settings

  4. Click Server in the window on the left

  5. Remove the check from "Leave messages on server"

  6. Click OK

Internet Mail
  1. Open Internet Mail

  2. Click Mail in the file menu and select Options

  3. Click the Server Tab

  4. On the Server Tab, click the Advanced Settings... button

  5. Remove the check from "Leave a copy of messages on server"

  6. Click OK


Macintosh

Outlook Express 4 and 4.5
  1. Open Outlook Express

  2. Click Preferences in the file menu.

  3. Expand Accounts by clicking on the right-facing triangle and select E-mail

  4. Click the Advanced .. button

  5. Remove the check from "Leave a copy of messages on server"

  6. Click OK

Outlook Express 5
  1. Open Outlook Express

  2. Click Tools in the file menu and select Accounts

  3. On the Mail Tab, select the Thrift Internet Mail Account and click Edit

  4. Click the Options Tab

  5. Remove the check from "Leave a copy of messages on server"

  6. Click OK

Eudora 5
  1. Open Eudora

  2. Select Specialin the menu, then select Settings

  3. Select Checking Mail on the left window

  4. Remove the check from "Leave on server for 'X' days"

  5. Click OK

Netscape 3
  1. Open Netscape

  2. Select Optionsin the menu, then Mail and News Preferences

  3. Click the Servers tab

  4. Select the radio button, "Removed from the server"

  5. Click OK

Netscape 4.05
  1. Open Netscape

  2. Click Edit in the file menu and select Preferences

  3. In Categories, open the Mail & Groups menu by click the right-facing arrow to expand the options

  4. Select Mail Server in the Mail & Groups menu

  5. Remove the check from "Leave messages on server after retrieval"

  6. Click OK.

Netscape 4.5 - 4.7
  1. Open Netscape

  2. Click Edit in the file menu and select Preferences

  3. In Categories, open the Mail & Newsgroups menu by click the right-facing arrow to expand the options

  4. Select Mail Server in the Mail & Newsgroups menu

  5. In the "Incoming Mail Servers" section, click the Edit button

  6. Click the POP Tab in the Mail Server Properties

  7. Remove the check from "Leave messages on server"

  8. Click OK and click OK
